Platform Instrumentation

Below is a list of currently available instrumentation at the platform divided into the four main categories. Click to expand menu.
Organic GC-MS

• GC-MSD (Agilent 5975)
A simple quadrupole MS for routine analysis of target compounds that require moderate (ppt) sensitivity (liquid injections; ionization: EI, CI or ECNI).

• GC-sector-HRMS (Waters Autospec Ultima)
A very sensitive instrument for analysis of target compounds that are present at low (ppq) concentrations (liquid injections; ionization: EI).

• GC×GC-TOF-MS (Leco Pegasus 4D)
An instrument with very high peak capacity and moderate sensitivity (ppt) well suited for qualitative analysis of highly complex mixtures (liquid injections; ionization: EI).

• GC-TOF-HRMS (Leco GC-HRT)
An instrument with very high resolution, excellent mass accuracy (1 ppm) and good sensitivity (ppt) well suited for automated analyses and identification of unknowns (liquid injections or thermal desorption; ionization: EI and CI).

• GC×GC-QTOF-HRMS (Agilent 7250)
An instrument with very high peak capacity, high resolution, excellent mass accuracy (<2 ppm) and high sensitivity (ppq-ppt), and well suited for identification of unknowns (liquid injections; ionization: EI, CI and ECNI).

• GC-IMS-HRMS/MS (Agilent 6560)
An instrument with very high resolution, excellent mass accuracy (1 ppm) and good sensitivity (ppt) well suited for identification of unknowns using accurate molecular ion information (liquid injections: APCI).

Organic LC-MS

• LC-IT-MS/MS (Thermo LCQ Fleet)
A simple ion trap MS for routine analysis of target compounds that require moderate (ppb-ppt) sensitivity (liquid injections; ionization: ESI, HESI or APCI/PI).

• SPE-LC-TSQ-MS/MS (Thermo Quantum Ultima)
A triple-quad MS with on-line SPE capabilities for routine analysis of target compounds that require high (ppt) sensitivity (liquid injections; ionization: ESI, HESI or APCI/PI).

• LC-TSQ-MS/MS (Thermo Quantiva)
A state-of-the-art triple-quad MS with on-line SPE capabilities for routine target analysis at ppt-levels (liquid injections; ionization: ESI, HESI or APCI/PI).

• LC-IMS-MS/MS (Agilent 6560)
A very sensitive (ppt) instrument with high mass accuracy (1 ppm) and on-line SPE and 2D separation capabilities. It is well suited for suspect and non-target analysis as well as multi-residue target analysis (liquid injections; ionization: ESI or APCI).

Organo-Metal ICP-MS

• LC-ICP-tqMS (Agilent 8900 ICP-MS Triple Quad)
An LC-ICPMS for trace element analysis. LC compatible metal compounds can be determined down to fmol amounts.

• GC-ICP-qMS (PE Sciex ELAN DRC-e)
An LC-ICP-MS for trace element analysis (pM-nM) that can be used to determine most metals of the periodic table, sulfur and phosphorous (as total concentrations, specific metal compounds, and metal-complexes.

• TD-GC-ICP-qMS (Agilent 7700 ICP-MS Quad)
A thermal desorption GC-ICP-MS system for trace metal compound analysis. GC compatible metal compounds can be determined down to fmol amounts.

• ICP-qMS (Agilent 7500a)
An ICP-MS for analysis of trace element compounds. GC compatible metal compounds can be determined down to fmol amounts.

Isotopic Ratio MS
  •  TR-MIMS (Thermo DELTA V Plus)
A Time-resolved membrane-inlet isotopic ratio mass spectrometer, used for assays of gaseous analytes . Its connectability to various membrane-inlet sample chambers enables time-resolved monitoring of gaseous products and their iso-topologues.
